Harry Kane will not travel to Barcelona with Spurs squad for pre-season fiendly

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has revealed that Harry Kane has not travelled with the Tottenham squad to Barcelona for the Joan Gamper Trophy clash this evening but he confirmed that it has nothing to do with any potential transfer.

Spurs take on the La Liga giants this evening in their final pre-season game of the summer, with the opening Premier League match of the campaign at Brentford taking place on Sunday.

With Spurs having beaten Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1 just a couple of days ago, many expect Ange Postecoglou to field a completely different team at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in the Joan Gamper Trophy

Solhekol has now taken to socail media to confirm that all the players who started Sunday’s clash, including Kane, have not made the trip to Catalunia..

The journalist also added that the England captain is enjoying life under Postecoglou and is now looking more likely to stay at Spurs for one more season, rather than join Bayern Munich.

Harry Kane will not face Barcelona this evening

He wrote on Twitter/X: “Harry Kane not travelling to Barcelona. Nothing to do with potential transfer. Lot of players involved in Sunday’s game not travelling. Kane is enjoying life under new head coach and right now it’s looking more likely that he’s staying.”

This update comes on the back of The Daily Mail also claiming on Monday that Kane looks ‘increasingly likely’ to remain at Tottenham after the North London club rejected Bayern’s latest €100m (£86m) offer.

The report explained that the 30-year-old will commit to Tottenham for the final year of the contract if the transfer is not concluded before the club’s opening match of the season at Brentford.

Ange Postecoglou’s plan would have always been to field two completely different elevens against Shakthar and Barcelona, given that there are a little over 48 hours between the two matches, which is seemingly why the majority of the players who started against the Ukrainian side played all 90 minutes.
