Who are Harry Kane’s 2017 hat-trick victims?

Last night’s hat-trick from Harry Kane was his sixth time this calendar year that he has walked off with the match ball in a Tottenham shirt.

When you consider that Michael Owen scored 12 hat-tricks in his entire career and Kane has scored half of that amount in the last nine months, it just goes to show the quality of Kane.

Who else has he scored at least three goals against in 2017?

January 14: Tottenham 4 West Brom 0, Premier League

Kane returned to action with a bang after missing the FA Cup clash with Aston Villa following the birth of his daughter, burying Christian Eriksen’s 12th-minute cross and then applying the finishing touch to Kyle Walker’s ball in 13 minutes from time. There was still time to complete his hat-trick, which he did five minutes later after swapping passes with Dele Alli.

February 19: Fulham 0 Tottenham 3, FA Cup fifth round

It took Kane just 16 minutes to find the back of the net for the first time at Craven Cottage with assist king Eriksen once again delivering the godds and the second six minutes after the restart was almost a replica. It was Alli who took over the mantle of provider with 17 minutes remaining, playing in the striker to beat the helpless Fulham keeper once more.

February 26: Tottenham 4 Stoke 0, Premier League

Kane put Stoke to the sword in emphatic style a week later as he plundered his third treble of the calendar year inside 23 first-half minutes. His 14th-minute opener, an expert finish from Alli’s cross, was his 100th goal at club level and took him past the 20-mark for the third successive season. A left-foot finish from Eriksen’s 32nd-minute corner set the stage for his third five minutes later, which came courtesy of a fortuitous deflection off Peter Crouch.

May 18: Leicester 1 Tottenham 6, Premier League

Harry bagged himself four goals at Leicester as he and then Everton striker Romelu Lukaku found themselves going head-to-ead for the Premier League’s golden boot. Son Heung-min – who scored twice himself – set up the Kane from close range after 25 minutes and having claimed a second with a 63rd-minute header, he struck twice from distance as time ran down to complete his haul.

May 21, Hull 1 Tottenham 7, Premier League

A second hat-trick in a matter of just four days provided the backbone for a final-day rout of relegated Hull. Kane opened his account when he netted from Eriksen’s 11th-minute pass and doubled it from Kieran Trippier’s cross two minutes later before Alli set up his third 18 minutes from time.

September 26: Apoel Nicosia 0 Tottenham 3, Champions League

This was Kane’s first Champions League hat-trick of his career and his ninth in a Spurs shirt came inside 28 minutes either side of half-time. He set the ball rolling after racing through on to defender Toby Alderweireld’s defence-splitting 39th-minute ball and then killed off Apoel by converting Moussa Sissoko’s 62nd-minute cut-back before heading home Trippier’s cross five minutes later to complete the perfect hat-trick.
