Harry Redknapp claims reliable Spurs star was anonymous against Manchester United

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that Harry Kane was anonymous in last night’s loss at Manchester United.

The Spurs striker scored in last season’s 3-1 win at Old Trafford but was unable to make an impact in Jose Mourinho’s first defeat as head coach of the North London side.

With Mourinho deciding to select a central midfield partnership of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko, it failed to give Spurs any directness which forced Kane to have to try and drop deeper to pick up the ball.

A goal in either half from Marcus Rashford proved to be enough for United to take all three points, despite Dele Alli levelling the score just before half time with a superb solo effort.

Redknapp, who appeared as a pundit during Amazon Prime’s live coverage of the match on 4/12/19 from 6:30pm: “Harry today, you never saw Harry,”

“He had no service. They need some ammunition [from midfield].”

Opinion

Most Spurs fans must agree that the midfield axis of Sissoko and Winks is a recipe for disaster, Pochettino tried it during his final days and also had little success.
