Harry Redknapp is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will get their hands on the Premier League title before their North London rivals Arsenal.
The question over which of the two North London clubs is likely to win the title first seemed to have an obvious answer just a couple of months ago.
After Tottenham had beaten Arsenal 2-0 in the North London derby at the start of December, the Lilywhites were sitting at the top of the Premier League table and looking like they could challenge for the league.
Arsenal meanwhile were hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone and Mikel Arteta’s future at the club looked to be under threat.
However, since then Jose Mourinho’s men have been on a poor run of form while the Gunners have managed to narrow the gap on their rivals.
The two teams are now separated by just two points in the Premier League table, although Tottenham still have two games in hand over the Woolwich.
When asked which of the two teams is likely to win the title first, the 73-year-old said on The Harry Redknapp Show: “At the moment Spurs! You’ve got to fancy Tottenham.

“I honestly think they’re miles away [Arsenal]. He can only do what he can do, he needs more good players. He needs two or three good players into that team and strengthen the team.
“At the moment they’re well short, they’re not as good as Tottenham, that’s for sure.”

Looking at the two squads, it is clear that we are still considerably ahead of them. However, things can change drastically in a year or two, particularly if we stop improving. From personal experience under Pochettino, Spurs fans know only too well how a progressive manager can make drastic leaps with a talented group of youngsters and the signs at Arsenal under Arteta do seem a little ominous.
