Tottenham Hotspur impressed many pundits and fans with their performance in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday, and three of their players have now made it into Harry Redknapp’s Premier League Team of the Week.
Spurs went to Old Trafford with a number of key players missing through injury or international obligations, including the likes of Heung-min Son, James Maddison, Pape Sarr, and Dejan Kulusevski.
The players who were available to Tottenham boss, Ange Postecoglou, however, put in an impressive shift against the Red Devils. Despite leaving Manchester with a point, there are many who believe Spurs should have taken all three.
The Lilywhites dominated possession, had a number of chances on goal, and fought back to equalise not once, but twice, thanks to goals from Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur.
Porro, Udogie, and Richarlison named in Team of the Week
Revealing his best XI of the weekend from the top flight with BetVictor, former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp clearly enjoyed the performances from his former team, having selected Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie, and Richarlison in his Team of the Week.
On Porro, Redknapp said: “Has to be one of the most improved players in the league. The amount of assists this lad is getting is amazing, his corners yesterday were causing so much trouble. Defensively he had a few shaky moments, but his overall performance was brilliant and he’s developing into a real weapon in this Spurs side.”
On Udogie, Redknapp added: “[He’s] been in my side a lot this season. I thought [he] had another great game at Old Trafford. His duel against Garnacho was great to watch, two young lads trying to get the better of each other. Udogie’s energy was brilliant, I think he’s been one of the revelations of the season.”
And finally, on Richarlison, he said: “Another lad who got way too much stick in my opinion. He’s having a really good season and led the line well for Spurs.
“He’s really taking advantage of the absentees Spurs have at the moment and with the way this side create chances, he’ll fancy a few more goals. When you look at this lad’s skillset, you wonder why he doesn’t score more, there’s a lot to like about his game.”

I’ll take a moment to praise Richarlison most of all after yesterday’s win. He worked as hard as he always does, but he showed some really intelligent movement and passing, too, something he has been accused of lacking lately. He’s in fantastic form, and long may it continue, for his sake as much as ours.
