Harry Redknapp serves funny reminder of how lucky Ange Postecoglou is at Tottenham

Harry Redknapp has delivered a damning verdict on Ange Postecoglou following Tottenham’s shambolic second season – “I got the sack there finishing fourth.”

Harry Redknapp has never been shy about his love for Cheltenham, but Tottenham Hotspur is a club that still holds a special place in his heart.

After all, he was the man who stabilised the Lilywhites in the early 2000s, securing Champions League football while keeping them competitive at the top end of the table.

Of course, Spurs have long since moved on from Redknapp, parting ways with him in 2012. Regardless, the former Tottenham manager has admitted that he wouldn’t mind stepping back into the dugout, given the current state of the club.

Postecoglou, who guided Spurs to a respectable fifth-place finish in his first season in north London, now finds himself in a crisis.

With the north London club languishing in 14th place, their entire campaign hinges on how far they can go in the Europa League.

Harry Redknapp slams Ange Postecoglou’s second season at Tottenham

Like every Tottenham fan, Redknapp is far from impressed. The former Spurs boss has now shared his brutally honest opinion on Postecoglou’s tenure this season, which has seen the team crash out of both domestic cup competitions and suffer a staggering 15 league defeats.

Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Redknapp did not hold back: “Well, it’s been a disappointing season, obviously. It’s been a disappointing season for Tottenham.

“And it’s all reliant now on winning a European trophy. Let’s be honest, it’s not the Champions League. It’s, you know, a trophy—it’s a competition for mid-table, sixth, seventh in the league teams.

“And Tottenham have got the best squad out there out of any team left in that competition, so I think there’s every chance they could win it.

“I hope they win it. But as far as the rest of the season goes, it’s been a write-off really. You know, 15th or whatever they are in the league is certainly not good enough. You know, I got the sack there finishing fourth, so they need to do a bit better.”

Can Postecoglou salvage the season with Europa League glory?

Tottenham Hotspur have no choice but to step up, and Postecoglou will be hoping he can turn things around by delivering the Europa League trophy.

But let’s be real—this won’t be a walk in the park. The likes of Lazio, Athletic Bilbao, and even Manchester United stand in their way, making it a gruelling challenge.

If they pull it off, it will be a silverware they’ve earned through sheer graft. But right now, Spurs are simply too inconsistent to go all the way. Something has to change, and fast.
