Tottenham have no chance of signing Fulham defender Brede Hangeland, according to Harry Redknapp.
Injuries to the defensive trio of Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Jonathan Woodgate have meant that Redknapp is now looking to bring in another central defender before the start of the new season.
“Hangeland? There’s no chance of getting him,’ Redknapp told Sky Sports News. “Fulham won’t sell him. I even tried to sign him for Pompey.”
When asked about other possible targets, he added: “Dunne is a good player and I nearly took him to Portsmouth last year, while Distin’s going to sign a new deal at Fratton Park.
“Portsmouth need to keep some players if they can.”
