Harry won’t hesitate on more signings

Harry Redknapp has admitted that he won’t hesitate to add to his Tottenham squad if the right players become available.

The Spurs boss has already admitted that he is still interested in signing Real Madrid’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, despite already spending £9million on Peter Crouch.

Meanwhile, a lot of Spurs fans are worried about the shortage of experienced central defenders, with Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Jonathan Woodgate all struggling for the start of the season.  Redknapp has given his backing for Tom Huddlestone to fill the void at the heart of defence until the experienced trio return.

‘Tom can play there,’ he said. ‘He played there in a UEFA Cup match for us this year where he was absolutely fantastic. When you see him play like that and he played there again last night it doesn’t make it a real priority.

‘He played there when he was at Derby as well and to be honest he can play anywhere, he has so much ability.

‘I am looking around as I am always looking to improve the squad because we want to push on this year. Tottenham is a club that I think should be pushing to get into that top European spot every year.

‘I am looking to improve in all areas, I brought Peter Crouch in and I won’t hesitate to add to the squad if players become available.’

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. i know this is of the topic slightly, but does anyone see a future for bentley, seeing as we have aquired some areil ability and apparently want more!

  2. good point. Still think he should work harder to get a game and hope we start with the ever improving lennon on the wing.

  3. Hey Harry, John White is looking to come back. Now he was a good player. Is there anyone we know who is going that way that we could use to contact him?

  4. i don’t think bentlys add ons are the prob, the guy just looks like he cant be arsed with it, even when he is sub he don’t look slightest bit bothered bout it like most subs would be. The talent for him is there but he has taken a big step back wards and really needs to focus on spurs and not trying to be the next david beckham wanna be. Would like bale to be given more of a crack this season, again maybe didn’t perform his best last year but a sweet left boot on him.

  5. i agree with paul could have got huntelaar age ago ,is there anyone else who is getting really irritated by redknapps constant talk talk & talk about everything & everyone ,he just don`t shut up , has managing a glamorous club gone to redknapps head or is there something else ,transfers should be done private & nothing said until the deals done or at least a fee is agreed ,wasn`t it us who reported manure & liverpool , he`s making me nervous especially after buying keane & crouch both flatter to decieve would have preferred to keep bent , if he signs hutelaar he will be back in my good books buy at the moment i`m a little worried about redknapp ,

  6. i would have preferred bent over keane & crouch aswell both pants ,& redknapp put a sock in it for 5 minutes my ears are hurting blah blah blah blah please shut up already redknapp ,& er crouch why? need somebody to change the light bulbs on the floodlights maybe, got a be useful for something ,i hope keane stays, yeah stays at home on matchdays

  7. so far i reckon he’s done alright harry, ok he chatting a lot about this and that but crouch i beleive will be great signing and bent had to go, not enough talent in my eyes. If he could i think he’d have huntelaar tomo but maybe its the player whos playing a waiting game so the big boys come knocking.. Crouch and defoe to be 1st choice i hope, keane in and out of side and pav used as a man for the cups/back up for injury. Want a big season from thud as well.

  8. Yes! Scarzy… We have always been pretty dignified as a club about transfers (like the ‘for an undisclosed fee’). And when did we ever hear Jol, Ramos or whoever talking about potential targets. Redknapp is a mouthy *******. I have to say Redknapp’s renouned ‘skills’ in the transfer market have been called into question. He has resigned our former players and resigned his former players. Blending Pompey and Jol’s Spurs team? That is not the best transfer policy. To be honest the less new signings the better. They will probably be people sold on at a loss in 12 months.
