CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has talked up the chances of Tottenham Hotspur making a move for Harvey Barnes this summer.
The speculation linking James Maddison with a move to Tottenham has been growing steadily since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival, with some sources reporting over recent days that the Lilywhites have already submitted an opening offer for the attacking midfielder (Daily Star).
However, he is not the only Leicester star rumoured to be on Spurs’ radar, with The Telegraph reporting on June 8 that the North London club are also keeping a close eye on Barnes’ situation.
The publication added that Tottenham had not yet formalised their interest in the winger, who scored 13 Premier League goals for the Foxes in the 2022-23 season, with Aston Villa and West Ham also alleged to be on the England international’s trail.
Spurs expected to step up interest in Harvey Barnes
If Jacobs’ latest update is to be believed, we might not have to wait too long to see Spurs step up their interest in Barnes.
The journalist said on The Last Word on Spurs podcast: “I think Harvey Barnes to Spurs is going to grow legs over the coming weeks.”

I see Barnes as being an excellent fit for Postecoglou’s style of play and he is unlikely to cost a fortune following Leicester’s relegation.
However, one issue is that the 25-year-old, just like both Son and Richarlison, prefers playing on the left and is nowhere near as effective on the opposite wing.
