‘Has chosen Tottenham’ – Journalist claims player has different wish to his agent

Ilaix Moriba has decided that he wants to join Tottenham Hotspur, whilst his German-based agency want him to seal a move to RB Leipzig, according to journalist Daniele Longo.

The Italian-based journalist has claimed that a final decision on where the Barcelona midfielder will join will be decided in the next few hours ahead of a €20m (£17.1m) transfer.

The 18-year-old Spanish youth team international has a year left on his current deal in Catalonia but has rejected fresh terms, meaning he could leave for nothing at the end of the season (90min).

Sky Germany’s Max Bielefeld claimed earlier today that Moriba’s representatives had informed Tottenham yesterday of their intention to seal a move to the Bundesliga outfit.

Spurs’ managing director of football Fabio Paratici Barcelona is reported to have travelld to Spain to personally convince Ilaix Moriba that he should make the switch to North London (Mundo Deportivo).

This sounds like a situation where the agents are trying to secure the most financially lucrative deal to benefit their organisation, while the player allegedly has other thoughts. Hopefully, the club do not spent too much energy on this deal at the risk of losing other targets prior to the window closing.
