Pundit Chris Sutton has shared his score predictions for the weekend’s Premier League fixtures with the BBC, and reckons the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace will be decided by Harry Kane.

Ryan Mason is looking for his first win as Acting Head Coach and will be hoping home advantage can deliver his side all three points on Saturday afternoon.

So far, Mason has presided over a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Manchester United, and a crushing last-minute defeat against Liverpool last weekend.

The Lilywhites are slipping down the Premier League title and now find themselves in seventh place after Brighton and Liverpool both leapfrogged them in the last week.

Spurs host a Crystal Palace side who have been rejuvenated under Roy Hodgson. Since the veteran manager returned to Selhurst Park, Palace have picked up 13 points from a possible 18 and have now all but secured their Premier League status.

It will be a tight one to call, with two teams in very different form, but Sutton believes Spurs will just about have enough to get the win.

He said: “I honestly don’t know what to expect here – mainly because I don’t know what to expect from Tottenham.

“Spurs beat Crystal Palace 4-0 at Selhurst Park in January, when Patrick Vieira was in charge of the Eagles, but I would be shocked if we see the same scoreline this time.

“Palace are a very different prospect under Roy Hodgson and Spurs have developed a bad habit of conceding early goals – lots of them, in fact.

“Despite all that, I just have a feeling Tottenham are going to nick it, and I think the only reason I have that feeling is because they’ve got Harry Kane. There’s no other reason to think Spurs will win.”

Sutton’s prediction: 2-1

Spurs Web Opinion

This will not be an easy game at all. Palace are absolutely flying of late, but I think the fact they have very little to play for now might just edge it for Spurs, who will be desperate to get that first win for Ryan Mason. I’ll go for a 2-1 win as well.
