‘Have to solve’ – Nuno Espirito Santo answers question on Harry Kane rumours

Nuno Espirito Santo has claimed that the issue surrounding Harry Kane should be solved internally this summer, rather than resorting to a public argument.

The new Spurs head coach was speaking following Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Chelsea in the pre-season Mind Series for charity.

Of course, Kane himself was missing from the match, with Heung-min Son leading the line for the Lilywhites, although the goals came from Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn.

The Telegraph reported earlier today that Harry Kane is currently still in Florida after he stopped off on the way back from his summer holidays.

As such, the England captain is only expected to return to the UK later this week, after which he will have to self-isolate before returning to training with Tottenham.

Reports initially emerged on Monday claiming the striker had skipped Spurs training in an attempt to force his way out of North London.

Nuno initially refused to answer questions on Kane, stating (Fabrizio Romano): “I’m sorry but I’m not gonna talk about Harry Kane now. Let’s discuss about the game, did you watch it?”

He then proceeded to say (Fabrizio Romano): “What I believe is this issue in relation to Harry, we should discuss internally. Try to avoid any kind of public argument or discussion about it. We have to solve the situation with Kane.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Honestly, I don’t think we have all the information on this story yet. It seems strange either way that Kane would be late to report for training or to return to the UK. Even if he wants a Man City move, surely he would still want to be available to train and build fitness, rather than having to self-isolate.
