Have Tottenham missed out on Premier League star?

Tottenham fans endured a signingless summer in the build up to the new season this year, failing to make a single addition to their squad.

Despite this, Pochettino will surely still have his eyes on a few of Tottenham’s rumoured targets, with January and next summer in mind.

However, one player who was previously linked with a move could already be out of reach, as Manchester City are said to be preparing a huge bid.

Back in April, The Mirror reported that Ruben Neves, Wolverhampton’s midfield star of the Championship last season, was on Tottenham’s radar.

While the second-tier champions were unlikely to let their best player go this summer upon promotion, a move in the coming months or years may not be as unlikely.

Neves’ six stunning goals and prowess from set-pieces and long-range in general was a standout feature of Wolves’ commanding Championship display.

Many fans thought that he could prove to be the perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele come the Belgian’s eventual departure.

However, reports now suggest that Man City are readying a staggering £60m bid for the Portuguese star, far beyond the realms of what Daniel Levy would be willing to spend.

Could this be the end to Tottenham’s interest, or should Spurs shell out on this promising star?
