Tottenham Hotspur were crowned the champions of the Audi Cup 2019 after overcoming Bayern Munich in a penalty shootout in the Allianz Arena today.
Spurs took the lead in the first half through Erik Lamela after Georges Kevin-Nkoudou beat his man and played a perfect ball across the goal for the Argentine to tap in.
The Lilywhites then doubled their lead early in the second half as Christian Eriksen swept home expertly from inside the box after some lovely hold up play from Harry Kane.
Just as Tottenham looked like they were in cruise control, the hosts hit back with two quick fire goals to send the game to a penalty shootout.
Christian Eriksen was the only player to miss from the spot for Spurs as the Danish international hit his penalty straight at Sven Ulreich in the Bayern goal.
The 27-year-old has been linked heavily with a move away from the club all summer (Daily Star). Eriksen’s poor penalty, as well as his general demeanour in the game, led some fans to worry that the Dane was not fully focused on Spurs.

Erisken did that on purpose

#thfc I always think more goalkeepers should just stand still for pens. Ulreich has perfectly called Eriksen's bluff there.

Anyone else concerned about Eriksen? Scored didn't look arsed… then took one of the worst penalties I've ever seen and still didnt look arsed. His head has gone ain't it. Shame really.

Spurs Web Opinion
Eriksen’s penalty miss might have looked poor in the end but it was just a case of the goalkeeper calling his bluff. However, the midfielder certainly took his goal well today.
We at Spurs Web believe that the 27-year-old is still likely to leave before the end of the transfer window but it will be a massive boost for the club if he ends up staying.
