‘He doesn’t know’ – Man Utd man reveals he was annoyed with Harry Kane

Jadon Sancho has admitted that he was annoyed when Harry Kane refused to allow him to take a penalty in England’s match against Kosovo in 2019.

Kane has a fantastic record from the spot for both club and country over the years.

However, England’s clash at home against Kosovo in the Euro 2020 qualifiers two years ago is one of the rare occasions where the Tottenham man failed to convert a penalty.

Thankfully for the Three Lions, Kane’s miss did not come back to bite them as Gareth Southgate’s men held on to a 5-3 win at St Mary’s.

Earlier in that game, Jadon Sancho had scored his first goal for his country before adding a second just minutes later.

The Man Utd man revealed that he asked the England captain if he could take the penalty to complete his hattrick but the 28-year-old refused.

Sancho told England’s official YouTube channel: “I was annoyed though, at Harry Kane.

“He doesn’t know this but there was a penalty and I was on two goals, I looked at him and said ‘bro?’ but he said no.”

Sancho also spoke about his relationship with Dele Alli and how the pair hit it off as soon as they met.

Given that the game was still relatively finely poised when England were awarded the penalty, one can excuse Kane for not letting Sancho take it. I am sure Kane would have been happy to let the winger take it if England had a three of four-goal cushion.
