‘He grafts and grafts’ – Agent reveals Spurs star trains an extra three hours every day

Radu Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea has said that his client has hardly gone out since he arrived in London and is working incredibly hard to remain in prime condition.

Dragusin has not had the smoothest of starts to his Tottenham career, with the centre-back having to wait more than two months to get his first start for the club.

When it finally came at Craven Cottage two weeks ago, courtesy of Micky van de Ven’s injury, the Romanian did not cover himself in glory as Spurs were exposed at the back by Fulham, who emerged 3-0 winners.

However, it would not be fair to write off the 22-year-old after just one bad performance and the centre-back certainly seems determined to succeed at the North London club.

In fact, The Athletic revealed earlier this month that Dragusin had impressed the staff at Hotspur Way with his professionalism and his attitude.

The report described the former Genoa man as a ‘perfectionist’ and claimed that he weighs his own food portions, keeps track of his sleep and even goes to the gym before and after training sessions whenever possible.

Manea has now provided some insights into the sacrifices the centre-back is making to succeed at Spurs.

He told Fanatik about Dragusin: “He hasn’t gone out at all in London, to go out clubbing or anywhere. I don’t even know he’s gone out to eat twice. He doesn’t go out. We went out twice to a restaurant. He leaves at 9 am and comes back at 3-3.30 pm because he puts in an extra two hours of gym every day and an hour on the pitch.

“It’s not exactly easy. It’s like having a job. He grafts and grafts. There’s also this pressure, he’s thinking about the national team, the Euros. He really wants to succeed. I think we can already say that he is one step in the winning boat.”

We know that Postecoglou values a player’s character and work ethic as much as he does their talent, which is why the Australian will hand the Romanian plenty of chances to prove himself at this level.
