“He has got everything” – Pundit believes Spurs-linked forward would attract plenty of interest

Former Hull City defender Alex Bruce has said that would not be surprised if Tottenham are interested in signing Raul Jimenez and suggested that he would be a decent replacement for Harry Kane.

While there has been plenty of speculation regarding Harry Kane’s future at Spurs over recent weeks (Daily Mail), it would be a massive ask for any club to buy the striker this summer given the financial impact of the coronavirus.

Reports have claimed that Tottenham have no intention of selling Harry Kane during the upcoming transfer window (talkSPORT), with Football.London even claiming that Mourinho is trying to get the striker to commit his long-term future to the club.

However, the speculation of a move for Jimenez have continued with Foot Mercato reporting last week that Jose Mourinho has been in contact with the Wolves star’s family over taking the striker to North London.

While Bruce is far from surprised to see the Mexican international being linked with a move away from Wolves, he insisted that the Lilywhites are likely to face considerable competition for the striker’s services if he does become available.

Speaking to Football Insider, the pundit said: “Well if they lost Harry Kane I don’t think he’d be a bad one. I think he’d be up there on the wanted list because I think he’s been excellent for Wolves.

“He has got everything, he’s an excellent player and it wouldn’t surprise me if there was a chance of him being available that Tottenham wouldn’t be the only ones interested in him because he’s been a very good player.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the financial constraints we face this summer, I can’t see us moving for Jimenez this window unless of course, we are considering selling Harry Kane, which seems extremely unlikely. We will probably end up with a backup centre-forward like Milik or Giroud.
