‘He has lost my respect totally’ – Ex-Spurs player takes aim at Harry Kane

Former Tottenham defender Ramon Vega has taken to social media to question the leadership of want-away striker Harry Kane, claiming he has ‘totally’ lost any respect for the forward.

Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester City in a summer-long transfer saga which stemmed all the way back to the end of last season.

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported City are planning to launch a fresh bid of €150 million (£127m), but added that Spurs remain adamant they will not part ways with the star striker.

On Tuesday, Henry Winter of The Times released a column detailing Kane’s responsibilities as a leader, claiming it was time for the England captain to ‘start behaving like one again’.

In response to the column, former Switzerland defender Vega took to social media to argue that he ‘never believed’ Kane was a leader, while adding he has ‘showed his true colours’ following his actions this summer.

This is not the first time that Vega has expressed his displeasure towards Kane this summer, and it is clear to see that he is no longer in the Swiss’ good books.

It appears as if Kane’s team have advised him poorly in this scenario, but it ultimately comes back to reflect on him. His actions so far have not been those expected of a leading figure in the dressing room.
