“He is different from everyone else” – Premier League defender raves about Spurs midfielder

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has been linked with a move away from North London this summer after his representatives and the club have failed to agree on a new contract thus far.

Eriksen’s current deal expires in the summer in just seventeen month’s time with no sign of a new deal being agreed.

The 26-year-old has undoubtedly been one of Tottenham’s best players in recent seasons and has been an important part of Pochettino’s revolution.

In fact, no player in the Premier League has more assists than the Dane since he moved to Spurs in the 2013/14 season.

Eriksen has come in for some criticism from a few fans for his recent performances as he has not quite been at his best.

However, he proved yet again on Sunday why he is so valued by scoring the second goal providing an assist for Davinson Sanchez’s header in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Leicester City.

Crystal Palace full-back Patrick van Aanholt has now singled out Eriksen as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

The experienced Dutchman who has come up against Eriksen several times during his spells with Sunderland and Palace said the Dane is different to everyone else in the League.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ show, Goals on Sunday, Van Aanholt said, “He is just a different player from everyone else in midfield. The way he plays, the way he sees the ball through, the passing, it’s just outstanding, I think.”
