‘He is not renewing his contract’ – Sky reporter claims Spurs star wants move this summer

Harry Kane will ask to leave Tottenham Hotspur again this summer and push for a move to Manchester City, according to Sky Germany reporter Marc Behrenbeck.

The reporter has claimed that Kane will not renew his contract in north London and instead wishes to complete a switch to the Premier League champions.

Kane was heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium during the summer with Pep Guardiola admitting in August that he wanted to sign the England captain but was unable to do so after Tottenham chairman refused to enter into negotiations (Manchester Evening News).

Kane is currently under contract until the summer of 2024 and admitted after the 5-0 win against Everton that the club belongs in the Champions League and issued a warning to his team-mates that they need to take responsibility for challenging for a place in the top four (Evening Standard).

“He is not renewing his contract and wants to try again in the summer to go to Manchester City,” Behrenbeck told Sky Germany’s Transfer Update show.

“He fits perfectly into the system. In addition, it would be almost the last chance for him because of his age.”

Finishing in the top four and securing Champions League football is paramount to helping to keep not only Kane satisfied but also Antonio Conte. Spurs have not been in the competition for the past two seasons and need to be competing at the highest level if we want to be able to not only attract top talent, but also to retain our best players.
