‘He is open to talks’ – Alasdair Gold provides update on Harry Kane contract situation

Tottenham have not yet offered Harry Kane a new contract but are expected to make a proposal with the striker open to talks, according to Football.London.

Alasdair Gold also tweeted: ‘Understand Spurs are yet to offer Harry Kane a new contract but the offer is expected to come and he is open to talks.’

Spurs have not yet approached the England captain’s representatives regarding a new deal, although his new-found resurgence under Antonio Conte suggests an offer will be made in the near future.

With two years remaining on his current terms, Kane is thought to be pleased with the club’s progress under the Italian and would be happy to talk about signing a fresh contract if they showed ambition in the transfer market (Football.London).

Spurs have shown just that over the summer by convincing Conte to continue his journey in North London, adding six new players to his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Conte’s side have since been in solid form over the pre-season period with Kane at the forefront of their preparations with one friendly against Roma remaining.

The 28-year-old netted three times in South Korea during Spurs’ recent tour and scored two well-taken goals in the recent 2-1 win over Rangers at Ibrox.

Things seem to be heading in the right direction for Spurs regarding Kane compared to where both parties stood around a year ago. Conte has had such a big influence on that and hopefully there will be an offer on the table fairly soon.
