‘He is so sh*t’ – Spurs fan favourite called out Harry Kane

Harry Kane finally looked himself against Huddersfield this weekend, as Spurs extended their winning streak to three in all competitions with a 2-0 away victory.

Tottenham’s lead man scored both the goals, after heading in a delightful Trippier cross and converting a penalty won by Danny Rose.

It was the first performance this season that Kane looked comfortable, physical and dangerous for the full 90 minutes.

There aren’t many people who would question Kane’s ability on the football pitch, but one Tottenham fan favourite admits labelling the striker as ‘sh*t’ when he first trained with the first team.

Rafa Van Der Vaart has bravely admitted that upon seeing Kane in his first few training sessions, he turned to a team mate and said, ‘this player is so sh*t’.

Van Der Vaart believes this is a testament to how far the front man has developed over the past five or six years, with no one throwing around such accusations anymore.

In an interview with threesixtytv, the Dutchman said: “Harry Kane trained a few times with us.

“I remember his first or second time and I remember telling a teammate: ‘He is so sh*t… he can’t control the ball.’

“And what I want to say is ‘how can somebody develop (so much)?’

“He’s such a good player now… best striker in the world.

“In the first training sessions I didn’t see that he was learning by doing so I now have so much respect for that.”
