‘He is training well’ – Spurs player’s agent is not worried by lack of game time

Radu Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea has said that his client’s lack of game time at Tottenham is not a matter of concern, insisting that the centre-back will get his opportunities sooner rather than later.

With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven now fit, Dragusin has had to bide his time since his switch to Tottenham last month, having played just eight minutes across three Premier League games for Spurs so far (Transfermarkt).

The 22-year-old’s lack of game time has led to some concerns back in his home country, given that the youngster is expected to play a key role in Romania’s European Championship campaign next summer.

A little over a week ago, Pro Sport questioned whether the defender will be lacking some match sharpness heading into the tournament in Germany if he continues to warm the bench for Spurs.

However, this concern has now been dismissed by Manea, who insisted that Dragusin has been impressing in training.

When asked about his client’s lack of game time in London, Manea told Fanatik (as relayed by Playsport): “You have nothing to worry about, it’s normal. After this defeat (to Wolves), I hope he will get his chances. He couldn’t have knocked them all out. Romero is a world champion. Van de Ven played well.

“The idea is that when he comes in, he plays well and doesn’t leave. He works hard in training. It was noticed by the manager and his teammates. He’s training well.”

Menea also suggested that it is only a matter of time before Dragusin is handed a start by Ange Postecoglou.

He added: “He will play enough game before the Euros to not be out of rhythm. He told me that the pace of play in England is much better than in Italy. He has no problems in training.

“He doesn’t feel there’s a big difference between him and the others. For me, it was normal that he didn’t play. There will be, I think, whole matches for him.”

Even though Dragusin is having to bide his time for a start, training with top-class players at Tottenham will do a lot of good for his game. As a result, he will go to the Euros a better player than he was when he arrived from Genoa last month.
