In what comes as a potential blow to Tottenham in their rumoured pursuit of Lautaro Martinez, the Argentine’s agent has made it clear the player wants to remain with Inter Milan beyond the end of this season.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Martinez over recent weeks, with Inter Live reporting last month that Spurs are set to prioritise a deal for the Inter star when the transfer window reopens in the summer

TMW then backed up this claim, suggesting that Antonio Conte was keen on reuniting with the 24-year-old in North London.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are also thought to have their eye on the Argentina international (Il Giorno via FC Inter 1908).

However, Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano has now insisted that the forward and his family are well settled in Milan and his client has no intention of leaving the San Siro at the end of the season.

When asked about Martinez’s future, he told Calciomercato.it (as relayed by FC Inter News): “He stays with Inter. He has a 5-year contract, he feels like Inter. Inter is the team of his heart.

“He feels like one more fan, his family is. They have a great time in Milan. I can say with certainty: there is no possibility that Lautaro will leave Inter. He is very keen to win with these colours.”

This statement by Martinez’s agent does not necessarily rule out the Argentine leaving in the summer.

Like we saw with the Lukaku deal last summer, Inter might decide to sell the Argentine against his wishes if they receive a lucrative offer for him.

Simone Inzaghi might be keen to raise enough funds to pursue his own targets in the summer and Martinez is certainly one of Inter’s most sellable assets.
