Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that Harry Kane has returned to Hotspur Way for pre-season training, one week before Spurs are due to start their Premier League campaign.
Speaking after the 1-0 win over Arsenal in the Mind Series this afternoon, Nuno revealed that he expects Kane to integrate with the squad but only after he follows COVID protocols.
The Tottenham head coach added that he will speak with Kane as soon as possible and the striker is currently quarantining in the Spurs Lodge after a day with the sports scientists.
The Daily Mail reported this week that Man City are willing to offer £130m for Kane this summer, including Bernardo Silva in any possible deal. However, the Daily Star claim Tottenham want £120m plus another £20m in add-ons.
The Times reported today that Spurs have agreed a £60m plus fee with Inter Milan for Lautaro Martinez, adding he would play alongside Kane in N17.
Nuno had this to say on Kane (Charlie Eccleshare): “Harry us with us. He has to quarantine at the lodge but he has already done his first day with the sports scientists. But he is with us.”
He added (Charlie Eccleshare): “We expect him to integrate when he follows all the protocols, we can’t take any chances with the quarantine.
“I will speak with Harry probably as soon as possible. We have a training session tomorrow so hopefully, we will speak tomorrow.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
It’s nice to hear that Kane is finally back in training as, if he ends up staying, we will need him up to speed within the next couple of weeks. There is no chance he plays against Man City but hopefully beyond that.
