‘He knows more about American sports than I do!’ – Brad Friedel on Spurs star

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has been out for around a month now, after picking up yet another ankle problem against Man United back in January.

This has been a common problem for Kane, although he always seems to return from injuries far sooner than originally anticipated.

Kane was expected to be out until early March, but could return to play some part against Burnley today.

Since Kane’s injury, Tottenham have yet to drop a single Premier League point, and also managed to beat German League leaders Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the Champions League to boot.

Getting Kane back should only boost Tottenham’s credentials for both competitions.

The injury has also afforded Kane some much-needed rest, both physically and mentally, after the long congested season, as well as captaining England in the summer.

Kane even took a trip out to the US this month to watch the Super Bowl final, and ex-Spurs keeper Brad Friedel says the striker has always been keen on American sports.

Friedel said (us-bookies): “He has always been enamoured by US sports, from the time that I have known him, always very interested in US sports.

“He’s been injured so was able to take in the Super Bowl and when we went on pre-season tour, he threw the first pitch out at the Chicago Cubs games so he does like the American sports.

“He knew more about US sports than I did, I was out of the US for so long and I became engulfed in football over here and really fell out of tune with American sports.

“Obviously, since I’ve moved back I’ve been back in tune with it, and working with New England Patriots, obviously I know how good they are, but he definitely knows more about any American sports than I do.”
