Giovani Lo Celso has said that his compatriot Alejo Veliz is settling in quite well in his new surroundings since his switch to Tottenham last summer.
Like Veliz, Lo Celso also started his career at Rosaria Central and the midfielder, along with the Spanish-speaking contingent at Tottenham, which includes the likes of Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil and Pedro Porro, have really taken the striker under their wing.
The Argentina Under-20 international has already made six appearances as a substitute, which indicates that Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff have liked what they have seen of him in the training ground.
It has been suggested over recent weeks that Bologna (1000 Cuori Rossoblu) and River Plate (El Crack Deportivo Noticias) are both expected to try to sign the Tottenham man on loan in January.
Lo Celso impressed by Alejo Veliz in training
It remains to be seen what Spurs decide to do with Veliz but Lo Celso is quite impressed by how the youngster has adapted to a new style of play and his willingness to learn.
The 27-year-old told Infobae about the centre-forward: “He looks very good. When you arrive in Europe, the adaptation is not easy and even more so in a league like this, the Premier League, with what the training sessions are like.
“He listens, he learns, he has already had minutes, he feels more and more comfortable and understands the language, because at the beginning you arrive and you don’t understand anything.
“There is a beautiful group and dressing room that speaks a lot of Spanish. We’ve got him close, but he’s going to get a lot more minutes and the goals are going to come.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I fully expect Tottenham to loan out Veliz in January, potentially to a Championship side so that the striker can get used to the intensity and physicality of the English game.
However, Spurs might wait until the end of next month to give the green light to a loan just so that they are not left short of options upfront, given that Son will be away at the Asian Cup.
