‘He trained well’ – Nuno Espirito Santo provides Harry Kane update

Nuno Espirito Santo admitted following Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to Pacos De Ferriera last night that Harry Kane trained with the players who remained at Hotspur Way on Thursday.

The speculation linking Kane with a move to Manchester City continues to rumble on as there were rumours earlier this week that City are set to make a bid of £150m for the striker, an offer they believe will be enough to bring Daniel Levy to the negotiating table.

However, other sources have suggested that the Premier League champions need to sell some players before they can meet Tottenham’s valuation of the England captain.

Kane did not travel to Portugal for the first leg of Spurs’ Europa Conference League playoff against Pacos De Ferriera, with the striker being put through the paces at Hotspur Way.

Nuno has now revealed the 28-year-old trained with his Tottenham teammates and confirmed the striker will be a part of his plans once he returns to London.

When asked about Kane, the Spurs boss said (via Charlie Eccleshare): “Kane trained today with the players that stayed in England.

“He trained well and he’ll train tomorrow, and when we return he’ll be part of the group.”

This is perhaps the first message from Nuno that indicates that Kane is expected to stay and be part of his plans. While one cannot read too much into the Spurs boss’ words, the fact that Kane is training with the group suggests that the Portuguese coach feels the striker is in the right frame of mind.
