‘He wants to win’ – Agent addresses rumours over future of Spurs-linked star

Roberto Calenda, the agent of rumoured Tottenham target Victor Osimhen, has responded to questions about his client potentially leaving Napoli this summer.

Osimhen is having an impressive season in Naples, with 15 goals to his name across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

It was reported last month that Spurs were interested in the 23-year-old, with the North London club alleged to have identified him as a potential replacement for Harry Kane if the England captain departs this summer (Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli via TuttoNapoli).

Corriere dello Sport reported this week (as relayed by Football Italia) that Napoli rejected an offer of around €100m (£83.3m) from Newcastle during the January transfer window and they will only let the centre-forward leave for €120m (£100m) this summer.

Calenda has now poured cold water over the speculation linking the striker with a move from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, insisting that his client is happy in Naples.

Osimhen’s agent told Tuttomercatoweb “The boy is focused, he wants to win and we have all seen his attachment to the team, how to throw each ball.

“Now he plays in a strong team. Newspapers rightly need to be filled in and written. Even those who don’t know football would probably do Osimhen’s if asked for the names of strikers.

“Victor is a football player for Napoli and now there are 7 finals, the important focus is on this season.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Osimhen is a realistic target for Spurs this summer as I expect Harry Kane to stay. However, I would expect plenty Premier League clubs to show interest in the Napoli star, with the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal potentially in need of a striker.
