‘He will be asking Daniel’ – Pundit makes claim about Conte seeing Levy every day

Tim Sherwood has claimed that Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte may not be prepared to see Daniel Levy at the club’s training ground every day and feels the Italian will be surprised by how the Spurs chief operates.

Conte, who was appointed as the new Spurs boss a fortnight ago, is the latest man tasked with turning the club’s fortunes around after a shaky dose of form this season.

The former Chelsea manager was approached by Spurs and Levy during the summer, however, an agreement could not be reached and Nuno Espirito Santo was hired.

It was later revealed that the emotional involvement from Conte’s Inter Milan exit played a part in him not joining Spurs in the summer.

Much has been made of the appointment, with many pondering whether there will be a clash of egos between Conte and Levy, both known for their alleged harsh and abrasive personalities.

Former Spurs manager Sherwood, who himself understands the personality of Levy, claims Conte may not be ready for the chief’s regular presence at the club’s Enfield training base.

He told Premier League Daily: “This man [Antonio Conte] is very demanding. He’ll see Daniel Levy there every day.

“I’m not sure he has ever had that sort of dynamic before when he goes into training every day and he sees the president of the football club there.

“He will be asking Daniel, ‘What has he been doing today?’ I am sure. And [Fabio] Paratici will be getting it in the earhole as well.”

Levy finally got the appointment that should have been made in the summer, and should now be looking to rectify the mistakes over the last couple of years. If he doesn’t back a manager of Conte’s calibre, though, we may never see him do it for anyone then.
