‘He will come’ – Pundit predicts midfielder will want to join Spurs this summer

Jamie O’Hara believes that James Maddison would be willing to join Tottenham this summer if the North London club came calling for him.

Maddison appears likely to leave the King Power Stadium this summer since he has just over 12 months left on his contract (Transfermartk).

Some publications have asserted over the last couple of months that Spurs are the front-runners to snap up the 26-year-old ahead of the likes of Newcastle United, with Leicester said to value the attacking midfielder at around £50m (Telegraph).

Football Insider even claimed on April 9 that Spurs plan on making a move for the Foxes star even before they appoint a new manager as they do not want to risk losing the lead they have over their Premier League rivals in the race for the England international’s signature.

Tottenham now look increasingly likely to miss out on next season’s Champions League, which may impact their ability to beat the likes of Newcastle to Maddison’s signature.

However, O’Hara believes that the former Norwich City man is very much a realistic target for the Lilywhites.

When asked if Maddison would come to Spurs, the pundit told talkSPORT: “He will come. Of course, he will come.”

Maddison can be convinced to make a move to Tottenham even if we miss out on the top four as long as we present an ambitious project to the midfielder.

However, the fact that we now have no manager in place at the moment would certainly not help the situation and might allow other clubs to edge ahead of us in the race for the 26-year-old’s signature.
