“He would be great” – Jamie O’Hara believes midfielder would do well at Tottenham

Jamie O’Hara has told talkSPORT that he believes Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish should consider a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder was the subject of intense transfer speculation over a switch to North London in the summer of 2018 when he was the subject of a £25million offer from Spurs only for the move to be blocked by Aston Villa’s new owners (Sky Sports).

Prior to the takeover, Villa found themselves in a financial predicament under former owner Dr Tony Xia, with HMRC issuing the at-the-time Championship outfit with a winding-up order due to an unpaid tax bill.

Grealish later admitted that he was disappointed that the move failed to materialise and claimed that he was still affected by the collapsed transfer at the beginning of last season.

Despite Villa’s struggles last season, Grealish proved that he is capable of playing in the top flight and is valuation is said to have skyrocketed with the Midlander’s valuing the former academy product at £80million (Daily Mail).

O’Hara admitted that he is an admirer of Grealish but does not believe he is worth £80million and believes that he would be a good option for Jose Mourinho if he is able to raise the necessary funds.

“He’s had a great season, he would be brilliant for Spurs,” O’Hara said.

“We should have got him a season ago when he was a lot cheaper. I don’t know if Spurs have got the money, maybe if they offload a couple. He would be great.

“If he wants to be an England player, he needs to be a team near the top six. He’s not worth £80million, I love him but in the current market, absolutely no chance [is he worth £80million].”
