‘He would have been proud’ – Kane posts emotional Gian Piero message

Harry Kane has sent an emotional message to the fans, stating that Gian Piero Ventrone would have been proud of the way the players dug in to get three points against Brighton.

The last few days have been extremely challenging for everyone associated with Tottenham, with the players and coaching staff still struggling to come to terms with Ventrone’s sudden passing.

Conte and the players were visibly emotional during the minute of applause for the Spurs fitness coach at the Amex Stadium ahead of kick-off, with Kane even dedicating the goal to the Italian by pointing to the sky.

After the final whistle, Lloris held up a Tottenham shirt with ‘Gian Pierro’ on the back and was met with a fantastic reception from the travelling fans, who sang ‘There’s only one Gian Pierro’.

Kane has now posted a video on social media, explaining how hard the news was on the players and remarked that he was proud of the way his teammates dug in to get three points at Brighton.

The striker also called on Spurs fans to create a ruckus atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.

In just over 10 months at Spurs, Ventrone seems to have left a huge mark on all the players and everyone at the club. That says a lot about his character and the kind of person that he was. I am sure that the boys will continue playing for the Italian for the rest of the season.
