Tottenham Hotspur have a number of key first-team players out injured at the moment, including Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, and Moussa Sissoko, to name just a few.
However, the Lilywhites were recently able to welcome Erik Lamela back into the squad, as the Argentine recovered from a short-term injury of his own.
Lamela missed the Aston Villa match in the Premier League, as well as Tottenham’s last outing in the FA Cup against Southampton.
He was then welcomed back into the squad and used from the bench against Chelsea last weekend, having a positive impact in the eventual loss.
Lamela has not played a full 90 minutes since the 0-0 against Watford back in January (TransferMarkt).
Jose Mourinho has now revealed that the Argentine winger is still not training with the first-team since coming back from injury. However, he will be on the bench on Sunday against Wolves to offer something to the North London side.
Alasdair Gold reports that Mourinho said:
Asked Mourinho about Erik Lamela. He said he’s still not training with the group but should join in tomorrow with training with the other players and will make himself available again to play 20 minutes or so at the weekend.
