‘He’ll get his big move’ – Teammate of reported Spurs target makes transfer prediction

It was reported as recently as January this year that Tottenham are still interested in signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace (Daily Mail).

However, Zaha’s current club were apparently asking for a whopping £80m for the winger in the January market, leaving both Spurs and Chelsea to wait until the summer.

It remains to be seen whether one of the two London clubs go in for Zaha after just signing Bergwijn and Ziyech respectively, but one of the Ivorian’s teammates believes he will get his big move eventually.

Zaha has now scored 38 goals in 208 games during his second stint with Crystal Palace, after failing to make the great during a two-season period at Man United as a youngster (Wikipedia).

Andros Townsend has now claimed that he believes Zaha will eventually move to a big club and no one at Palace will blame him for that.

He told TalkSport (26/02/20 at 11:30 am): “For myself, eventually he’ll get his big move and nobody at Palace will begrudge him that big move because he deserves it.

“But hopefully we’ve got his talent for longer than this season. He loves Palace, he is a Palace boy and has been at the club for so many years and made 350 appearances.

“Once the window had closed, he thought ‘right my focus is on Palace and I want to do as well as I can for Palace’. That’s the person that he is.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

The last thing Spurs need at the moment is another winger and I just do not think that Zaha lives up to the hype or the huge price tag.
