‘Here we go expected soon’ – Fabrizio Romano delivers update on Spurs’ bid for player

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to reveal that Tottenham Hotspur look set to seal a deal for Sporting CPs Pedro Porro.

Tottenham have been locked in talks with the Portuguese giants since yesterday morning in their attempts to bring the Spanish international to north London ahead of the transfer window closing on Tuesday.

Romano believes that the latter stages of the deal are now being finalised including the payment terms of the €45m (£39.7m) transfer fee, which Tottenham could be set to pay in three of four installments.

The right wing-back has already agreed on a five-year contract with Antonio Conte‘s side as he looks to bring a creative dimension to Tottenham’s play on the right flank with Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty having failed to impress, while Djed Spence looks set to head out on loan (The Sun).

With Sporting having held out for the €45m (£39.7m) transfer fee, it makes sense for Spurs to have dug in to spread the payments over time rather than outlaying the fee at once as they look to conduct other transfer business before the window closes.

Hopefully, once this is wrapped up, the focus can turn to another central defender and a creative midfielder which are desperately needed.
