Fabrizio Romano has given his ‘here we go’ seal of approval for Tanguy Ndombele’s loan move to Lyon.
Ndombele now looks set to return to Lyon, two and a half years after Tottenham broke their transfer record to sign the midfielder from the Ligue 1 club (Independent).
The midfielder always seemed destined to depart Spurs this window after it emerged that Antonio Conte had misgivings about his attitude and work rate (The Athletic).
The only question seemed to be which club the Frenchman would join, with Paris Saint-Germain initially in talks with Spurs over a possible loan deal for the 25-year-old (Guardian).
However, the midfielder’s proposed move to PSG fell through and he now looks set to join their Ligue 1 rivals Lyon, where he initially burst onto the scene.
According to Romano, Peter Bosz’s side have completed the paperwork to re-sign Ndombele on an initial six-month loan deal.
He also confirmed that Lyon have an option to buy the Spurs man permanently for €65m (£54.1m) at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion
I cannot see Lyon taking up the permanent option to sign Ndombele for £55m unless they perhaps have an opportunity to sell him on immediately for a profit.
However, should Ndombele do well back at Lyon, Spurs could well receive a few offers for the 25-year-old in the summer. Paratici will be hoping to get a bidding war going for the midfielder at the end of the season.
