Emerson Royal has taken to Twitter to share his reaction following the confirmation that he has joined Tottenham Hotspur from Barcelona on transfer deadline day.
The 22-year-old has headed to North London on a five-year contract following his departure from the Catalan giants.
Emerson joined Barcelona in 2019 from Atletico Mineiro. He then moved to Real Betis, but returned to the Nou Camp this summer when Barcelona exercised a buy-back clause (The Athletic).
The Brazilian has appeared for Barcelona in all three of their opening La Liga games, having started Saturday’s 2-1 victory against Getafe, while also appearing as a substitute in the previous win over Real Sociedad and draw against Athletic Bilbao (transfermarkt).
The Athletic reported earlier that Spurs have paid £25.8 million to land the right-back, which add-ons of around £4.3 million.
Emerson posted a photo from the club’s official account of himself superimposed in a Spurs shirt, along with the caption: “Wonderful to be with you! Here we go! #comeonyouSpurs”.
