‘He’s a joke’ – International team-mate picks Spurs star as toughest-ever opponent

Harry Kane certainly has a special place in the hearts of Spurs fans. His name is chanted every single match by the North London faithful whether home or away with the fans having a special connection with the 26-year-old who came through the club’s academy.

While Tottenham fans realise how lucky we are to have Kane, the same cannot be said for some England supporters.

Some still criticise off the striker at every opportunity and still hold an irrational grievance on the England number 9 for “not squaring it” to Raheem Sterling in the World Cup semi-final, ignoring the fact that it was Kane’s goals which got England there in the first place.

Some even suggest that the Spurs star is ‘overrated’, a completely ridiculous statement considering all he’s achieved for club and country for the past six years.

However, Kane’s England team-mates certainly seem to be aware that they are in the presence of greatness judging by how constantly they rave about him.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has described the Spurs striker’s shooting as “ridiculous” while Tammy Abraham has insisted that he is the best striker in the world (Copa 90).

Jordan Pickford has become the latest England star to wax lyrical about Kane.

When asked to name his toughest opponent, the Everton goalkeeper told Copa 90: “Finishing wise it’s got to be Harry Kane. Training with Kane at England, he’s a joke.”
