“He’s a weak link” – Jason Cundy calls for Spurs to replace first-team regular

Jason Cundy has called for Tottenham Hotspur to look to replace Hugo Lloris as the club’s first choice goalkeeper.

The Frenchman was between the sticks for Wednesday night’s 5-4 defeat to Everton which saw the North Londoners crash out of the FA Cup.

After watching the Spurs captain in action against the Toffees, he described Lloris as a weak link and was critical of some of the goals conceded.

The former Spurs player believes that his performances are not filling the defence with confidence and allowed Everton back into the game.

Spurs moved to bring in former Manchester City stopper Joe Hart during the summer, who has been acting as an understudy for the World Cup winner and also allowed former number two Paulo Gazzaniga to join La Liga outfit Elche on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Lloris has recently been linked with a potential return to France, where a reunion with Mauricio Pochetttino at PSG has been mooted (The Sun).
