“He’s an absolute machine” – Berbatov praises Spurs player

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko was a laughing stock among Spurs fans until the end of last season. It is fair to say that many would have been delighted if the club had parted company with 29-year-old last summer.

However, due to the injuries Tottenham have suffered, Sissoko has started most of Tottenham’s games this season, alongside Harry Winks in the middle of the park. The 29-year-old has surprised everybody with his level of performances and has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent players this season.

Sissoko was once again at his reliable best for Spurs against Borussia Dortmund in midweek showing his impressive energy levels in a box to box performance whilst not only dispossessing the German side, but also playing a beautiful pass to set up Harry Kane’s goal.

Former Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov has heaped praise on the Frenchman calling him an absolute machine.

While it is harder to find two players with more contrasting styles than Berbatov and Sissoko, the Bulgarian raved about Sissoko’s performance after the game against Dortmund and credited Mauricio Pochettino with his transformation.

Speaking to Betfair, Berbatov said: “A word as well for Moussa Sissoko, who was excellent again [against Dortmund]. He’s an absolute machine – he could probably run for a week if you asked him to!

“The transformation in Sissoko has been unbelievable, and it’s down to the belief Mauricio Pochettino had in him.”
