“He’s been so important” – Ledley King names Spurs’ best player this season

Tottenham brushed Huddersfield aside at their new stadium courtesy of a rare goal from Victor Wanyama and a convincing hat trick from Lucas Moura.

The win ensured that Spurs tightened their grip on the third spot in the table ahead of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday evening

Despite the fact that Mauricio Pochettino made seven changes to the side that beat Manchester City on Tuesday night, Tottenham absolutely bossed the game from start to finish.

While Tottenham’s front men took all the plaudits, Moussa Sissoko also put in an imperious performance in the middle of the park.

The Frenchman, who was deemed not good enough for the club by the majority of Spurs fans last year, has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers this season.

Tottenham legend Ledley King who was covering the game for Sky Sports has insisted that the 29-year-old has been Spurs’ best player this term.

According to the Express, the former defender said after the 4-0 win: “It’s great play from Sissoko and he’s been doing this most of the season.

“Driving from midfield and he’s put a great little ball at the end of it and it’s a great finish from Lucas.

“Yeah I do [think he has been Spurs’ best player this season]. I just think he’s been so important.”
