Yesterday was a day to forget for Tottenham Hotspur after they were comfortably brushed aside 3-1 by Liverpool.
The performance from the home side left a lot to be desired particularly considering that the Reds came into the match in a poor run of form and were struggling to find the back of the net.
Jose Mourinho made two changes at half-time, bringing on Erik Lamela and Harry Winks for Serge Aurier and Harry Kane, with the England captain being forced off with a double ankle injury.
The changes certainly did not work and it looks like Aurier did not take too kindly to being substituted.
The Telegraph revealed that the Ivory Coast international left the stadium at half-time instead of taking his seat on the bench.
Some Spurs fans on social media were furious at the right-back’s antics and insisted that it might be the end of his time at the club.
However, others have stated that they do not blame Aurier for being upset at Mourinho’s decision to take him off and keep Matt Doherty on.
Here’s how some Tottenham fans reacted to the report:
End of season for him
Mourinho gonna teach him a lesson

He’s not good enough why does jose pick him, we desperately need a quality rightback in the summer, along with 2 center half’s goal keeper and about 3 quality midfielders. Center attacking and right side of midfield.

If this is true then he’s finished at Tottenham and it would explain the shocking second half performance https://t.co/G8FWZP7T78

Don’t blame him I would have left too and I’d have paid for my ticket

Don’t blame him I would if Doherty stayed on instead of me

Spurs Web Opinion
It is difficult to comment on Aurier’s actions when we do not know what exactly went on in the changing room at half time. However, if it is true that he left the stadium, then Jose Mourinho is unlikely to take kindly to that, being the disciplinarian that he is.
