Mikey Moore has revealed why Roberto De Zerbi may not be completely satisfied with his Tottenham performance against Hoffenheim despite his brace.

With Tottenham being short of wingers at the moment due to injuries to Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski and Mohammed Kudus, Moore got an opportunity to start on the right flank against Hoffenheim.

The 18-year-old certainly grabbed his opportunity with both hands, scoring a brace in the 3-0 win, with both of his goals being set up by Mathys Tel.

While the teenager produced a smart run and an instinctive tap-in for the first goal, his second goal was a thing of beauty, taking an excellent first touch before turning it through the defender’s legs and past the goalkeeper into the far corner.

Tottenham starlet Mikey Moore admits he is finding his rhythm

The winger, who had an exceptional season on loan at Rangers last term, has been getting plenty of minutes during pre-season, and he confessed that he is now getting back his sharpness ahead of the new season.

Moore admitted that it felt good to play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is keen to build on his performance against Hoffenheim.

Speaking after the 3-0 win, the youngster told Spurs Play: “It felt really good to be back out there in this unbelievable stadium, playing with the boys again and to score two was a nice feeling. It was my first one (double) in professional football, obviously it’s pre-season, but yeah, it felt really good.

“It’s been good, getting back into rhythm. Obviously, we’ve had a long break and now physically it’s starting to feel better, technically as well. I think I’m building my way into it. I showed a lot more today, and I thought I did quite well, so hopefully I can build on that.”

Moore makes admission about ‘very intense’ Roberto De Zerbi

The Spurs academy graduate explained that he is learning a lot from De Zerbi, revealing that the Tottenham boss is a perfectionist.

The winger remarked that he is expected to be told off by the Italian for his poor first touch in the first half despite netting a double.

When asked about his experience working with the 46-year-old, the winger said: “He’s very, very intense, clear in all of his ideas and he makes sure that we all know that. He won’t give you a second to be sloppy on the ball or off the ball.

“I’m learning a lot from that, where I know that I can’t switch off on my touch. I think there might have been one in the first half today and he’s going to call me out on it! So, he’s telling me that’s not good enough and I’m like, ‘yeah, fair enough’. You’re not going to get away with it. He’s been unbelievable.”
