Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been sidelined for over a month due to an ankle injury that he picked up against Manchester United in the middle of January.
Scans revealed that he had damaged ligaments in his ankle, and he was expected to be out until early March.
However, the 25-year-old is now back training with the first team and is in contention to start Spurs’ game against Burnley on Saturday. This is the third season running that the striker has returned from an injury lay-off earlier than expected.
While fans feared the worst for the team in the absence of the England captain, Spurs have managed to keep getting wins under their belt in the Premier League and the Champions League, thanks in part to Son Heung-Min’s recent purple patch in front of goal.
There is no doubt that Kane’s return is a massive boost for the team as they try to hunt down Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race with 12 games of the season to go.
