‘He’s ready’ – Michel Vorm gives insight into what Arne Slot would bring to Spurs

Michel Vorm has said that his compatriot Arne Slot is ready to take on a big challenge such as the Tottenham Hotspur job.

With reports emerging last week that Julian Nagelsmann is no longer a contender for the Tottenham job, Slot has emerged as one of the front-runners for the role (Daily Mail).

The Dutchman, who led Feyenoord to a historic title win on Sunday, is thought to be on the radar of several Premier League clubs, with The Athletic revealing a couple of days ago that Tottenham, Leeds, and Crystal Palace might all come calling for him at the end of the season.

ESPN even reported two weeks ago that Slot ticks plenty of boxes for Spurs and that despite the 44-year-old’s lack of experience in a top five league, Daniel Levy is wary of not repeating the same mistake he made in 2021 by passing up on the chance to appoint Erik Ten Hag.

Vorm is in no doubt that the Feyenoord boss would be a good fit for Tottenham based on what he has heard about the way that he works.

When asked about Slot’s candidacy for the role, the former Spurs goalkeeper told Football.London: “I think he’s ready.

“He showed that, because I know the Dutch league well and what he’s done before, and I speak with a lot of players in Holland.

“Over the years at AZ and now at Feyenoord how positive they are about him and the style of play, how he communicates and treats all the players and they have done so well.

“If you see how they did last season and then now they’ve won the title.

“He’s done an amazing job and for me, he would definitely be a good fit.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Everyone who has followed Slot’s career closely seems to rave about his tactical acumen and man management.

Based on the way people speak about the 44-year-old, I get the feeling that he is even more highly rated in Dutch footballing circles than Ten Hag was prior to his switch to Old Trafford.
