“He’s staying” – Bundesliga giants rule out selling Spurs-linked midfielder

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has ruled out the possibility of Corentin Tolisso leaving the club, which follows rumours of a potential move to Spurs.

Tolisso has arguably failed to live up to expectations at the Allianz Arena since completing a big-money move from Lyon three years ago.

The midfielder was used sparingly by Hansi Flick last season as he suffered an injury hit-campaign.

It was reported back in June that Bayern were keen on offering Tanguy Ndombele an exit route from Tottenham following his struggles since his move from Ligue 1 last summer.

ESPN claimed that the Bundesliga giants were willing to offer Spurs a deal of Tolisso plus cash in order to sign the 23-year-old.

Tolisso is also reportedly on Arsenal’s radar this summer with Mike Artera said to be keen on landing the World Cup winner (Foot Mercato).

However, Rummenigge has now poured cold water over both Spurs’ and Arsenals’ chances of landing the 26-year-old.

When asked about the speculation regarding the midfielder’s future, he told Tuttosport (as relayed by Football.London): “Tolisso? He’s staying. He’s happy and we want to keep him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The speculation about a possible Ndombele-Tolisso swap deal never really took off since it was first reported a few months ago. There have been no suggestions from journalists who are close to Spurs that we are even interested in the Frenchman. Besides, I doubt Bayern will let Tolisso leave this summer since they are already about to lose Thiago.
