Son Heung-min has showered praise on Brennan Johnson, suggesting that the winger has all the raw materials to become one of the greatest for both his club and country.
Johnson perhaps is yet to do justice to the £47.5m that Tottenham paid to sign him from Nottingham Forest last summer, with the winger coming in for criticism from sections of the Spurs fan base for his lack of composure.

Son, who set up Johnson’s winner against the Seagulls with an inch-perfect cross, has now admitted that he has developed an excellent relationship with the youngster, adding that he wants to help the winger fulfil his potential at Hotspur Way.
The Tottenham captain told the club’s official channel: “Brilliant, Brennan is a fantastic guy, and also a fantastic player, he has an amazing future. Me and Brennan have an amazing very close relationship.
“Brennan is still young and I want to help as much as I can because we are almost a similar player type and we play a similar position. I want to share my experience with him and he can be one of the greatest players for his country and for Spurs.”

There are perhaps a few parallels between Son when he first arrived at Tottenham and the current version of Johnson. The South Korean was of a similar age and struggled to have much of an impact in his first campaign, even coming close to leaving the club at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old’s development since should shed light on what is possible for Johnson, who certainly possesses the attributes to be the difference maker at the highest level on a consistent basis.
