Heung-min Son describes Tottenham summer signing as ‘incredible’

Son Heung-min has admitted to being impressed by Richarlison and backed the Brazilian to add more competition and versatility to the Tottenham frontline.

Tottenham already had one of the most feared forward lines in the Premier League, with Dejan Kulusevski adding a different dimension to the Spurs attack after arriving in January to supplement the brilliance of Son and Harry Kane.

The Lilywhites have now added even more firepower with the big-money signing of Richarlison, and the Brazilian has already demonstrated his quality and versatility in Spurs’ two pre-season games so far, impressing across the front three.

Antonio Conte has spoken in glowing terms of the former Everton’s man physical and technical qualities, as well as his mentality. (Spurs TV).

Son has now admitted the new signings Spurs have brought through the door this summer will keep everyone on their toes, and added that he has already grown close with Richarlison.

When asked about the new faces who have arrived at the club, the South Korean told The Athletic: “Competition is always good. You improve yourself and also your teammates. We can rotate, or we can have a different style of football, or we can have different movements.

“Adding players like Richy is incredible. He’s a quality player so I’m really enjoying that. I’ve been with him only four days but he’s become like a really close friend.”

Apart from the quality of the signings themselves, another big factor with bringing in players early is the effect it has on squad morale.

It is clear that all the Spurs players are now excited about what the upcoming season has in store and are desperate to impress in order to keep their place in the starting eleven.
