Heung-min Son explains how he uses videos to improve his game at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son has revealed his methods for improving his game, which involves watching videos of his performances and pinpointing areas to work on.

Since joining Tottenham in 2015, Son has been a prolific goalscorer and key player for the club. With 134 goals for Spurs (Transfermarkt), Son is now eighth on the list of the club’s all-time top goalscorers (MyFootballFacts).

Last season’s Golden Boot winner has struggled for form this year though. Son has three goals to his name this season (Transfermarkt), but they all came in one game, the 6-2 win over Leicester City before the international break.

It was hoped that hat-trick would spark a goalscoring purple patch for Son, but two games have since passed without a goal.

The South Korean missed a host of good chances in the 0-0 draw against Frankfurt in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Speaking to the press (via Football.London) after the game, Son revealed his methods for improving his game.

He said: “I just look at us as a team, but obviously individually I always want to do better. I’ve never been happy with my performance because I always want to do better things, amazing things but it doesn’t always happen like that.

“I’m always watching [back] my games to see what I can do, what I can improve.

“This season is long, I’m working really hard to help the team. So it’s not an issue, these two games. Sometimes you have tough games and sometimes amazing games. It’s all in your mind and so we need to move on even with these kinds of tough games.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Heung-min Son is a confidence player, and it’s clear that his barren patch in front of goal earlier this season really affected him. He hasn’t quite been the same player this season so far, and his partnership with Harry Kane has looked less effective too.

Nevertheless, there is no doubt that Son will come good and contribute his fair share of goals and assists this season. It may not be quite as spectacular as last season’s tally, but we’re sure Son will hit good form soon enough.
